Hand Drill Sculpture #1

Here is a hand drill from the early 40`s mounted on a stand to show off its design.

Machine age objects like this epitomize this era when tools were actually designed to be something more than just a functional object.

This drill also has the distinction of being two speeds. By simply flipping a cam switch, the drill can operate with two different rotational speeds per turn of the hand crank.

Still in full functional form, this drill is eager to claim a space where it can show itself off.
