Duplex Mfg Boy Scout Drum

Description:
This drum was manufactured by a company called DUPLEX. They first began building drums shortly after the civil war. They continue to produce to this day.

Duplex gained reputation for its novel way of connecting the head to the drum. Now common for most drums built today, but quite revolutionary at the time.

This particular drum - Model 77 was made primarily for the Boy Scouts. Not sure how many were actually used by the Scouts but the documentation we found indicates that was its purpose.

This toy shows signs of modest play. Some slight blemishes and a look of youthful age turned slightly south.

Incredible patina that displays well.
