Tru-Scale Pull-Behind Grain Combine

Description:
1954 Carter Tru-Scale Pull-Behind Grain Combine 1/16 scale Farm Toy

Here is a Pull-Behind grain combine by Tru Scale...

Before the days of self propelled combines where these types of units that were pulled by a tractor (hence the name Pull-Behind). This toy closely mimics its full size model.

I have to say that of all the farm toys Ive played with when I was a kid, this was my all time favorite. And as a collector, this is my absolute favorite farm toy.

It has just the right look to it. A look that shows it was played with but still respected and cared for. This toy even has the coveted cloth apron.

Not many survived as they easily became torn or just plain rotted away. I wish I could say that this was the toy I played with but the combine I had was played with so heavily, it was destined to live a short life. Luckily I was able to find a beautiful specimen for my collection and now I am offering it up to a good home.

Another fun aspect of this model is that when the combine is moved, gears attached to the wheels convey movement to the mechanism via the drive chains. Parts move and turn, including the conveyor belt and guiding paddles.
